README for WMAmpMenu
------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. GENERAL

WMAmpMenu is a simple utility that inserts your Xmms playlists in
your Window Maker root menu. If you keep your MP3s on CD-Rs like
myself and have your playlists organised per CD, you may find
WMAmpMenu particularly useful.

In addition, WMAmpMenu inserts the standard Xmms controls (play,
pause etc.) in your root menu, so that you will not find yourself
shuffling desktops to hit pause when That Very Important Phonecall
arrives.

WMAmpMenu is copyright 1999 by Sami Lempinen, and it is distributed
under the GNU General Public Licence with the hope that others find it
useful as well. WMAmpMenu comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY; for
details see the file COPYING in the source distribution. This is free
software, and you are welcome to redistribute it under certain
conditions; for details see the file COPYING.

2. OVERVIEW

WMAmpMenu consists of two Perl scripts:

wmampmenu	A simple utility which generates the Window Maker
		submenu for you.

mp3launch	A wrapper for Xmms that takes Xmms playlists
as arguments and starts Xmms with the songs on
		the playlists.

3. USAGE

Once you have performed the steps in the INSTALL file,
you are ready to use WMAmpMenu.

Take the following steps:

	1.	Run wmampmenu to generate the Window Maker submenu.
You need to tell WMAmpMenu where to find your
		Xmms playlists. For example:

		% wmampmenu -m ~/wmampmenu.menu ~/.x11amp/playlists/

This will generate the file wmampmenu.menu in your home
directory. You may exclude the -m <menufile>
definition; by default, wmampmenu outputs the file
		into ~/GNUstep/Library/WindowMaker/wmampmenu.menu.

	2. Add the line instructed by wmampmenu in your
Window Maker root menu definition (typically
		~/GNUstep/Library/WindowMaker/menu).

You should be all set. Now go and do da funk, and remember to watch
over your shoulder for the RIAA folks every now and then. ;-)
